Our Offices

Our Englewood office opened in March 2005. Our Eaton office opened in 2007. Many hours were spent renovating, painting, cleaning and equipping the offices prior to the opening. The outsides were spruced up as well, with the addition of a fence, and flowers. We want to make you welcome and your visits be a pleasant experience.

You will first be welcomed by the office manager and then be shown the waiting room. At each location, there are several examination rooms, an x-ray room, the physical therapy room and Dr. Shank's office.Dry Hydroptherapy Table

In the therapeutic room are the Intersegmental Traction table and the Dry Hydrotherapy table. If you have never experienced these treatments you are in for a pleasant surprise.

Dry Hydrotherapy The hydrotherapy table is a technological advance over whirlpools and immersion water therapy.  The effects are very similar, but the patient remains dry.  In essence it's a heated, pulsating waterbed. A primary, and a lighter, secondary wave combine to produce a very effective deep tissue massage to all areas of the spine. Hydromassage focuses on trigger points in the muscles, which are localized areas of hyper-irritability that induce a cycle of spasm, pain, tension, weakness and limited range of motion in the joints. Hydrotherapy promotes tissue healing, increases circulation, relieves muscle spasms, increases mobility, and is great for just relaxing.

Inter-segmental TableIntersegmental Traction: Like a roller massage table, this is also referred to as a Combi_table which emplys heat, vibration and intersegmental traction.   It increases blood flow to the discs, spinal ligaments and musculature. This also stretches and softens scar tissue, ligaments muscles and intervertebral discs.  Also intersegmental traction activates acupuncture associated meridians on the back which help the body heal.

Other techniques that may be used are Theraputic Ultrasound and Electricle Muscle Stimulation (EMS).
